พัฒนาการของบ้านไทยร่วมสมัย

Abstract

การศึกษาวิจัยนี้ เป็นการศึกษาถึงพัฒนาการของบ้านไทยร่วมสมัย ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2525- ปัจจุบัน โดยมุ่งเน้นไปที่การนำลักษณะไทยจากบ้านไทยในอดีตมาประยุกต์ใช้ในบ้านพักอาศัยรูปแบบปัจจุบัน โดยมุ่งเน้นไปที่การนำลักษณะไทยจากบ้านไทยในอดีตมาประยุกต์ใช้ในบ้านพักอาศัยรูปแบบปัจจุบัน ประกอบกับการศึกษาถึงความต่อเนื่อง เชื่อมโยงกับภาพใหญ่ของพัฒนาการในช่วงเวลาก่อนหน้า เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นถึงที่มากระบวนการปรับเปลี่ยน และปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงมาสู่รูปแบบในปัจจุบัน นอกจากนี้สาระสำคัญอีกประการหนึ่งของงานวิจัยคือ การศึกษาถึงลักณะไทยร่วมสมัยทั้งในรูปแบบและเนื้อหาผ่านภาพตัวแทนของบ้านกรณีศึกษา จำนวน 10 หลัง เพื่อสรุปเป็นทฤษฎีและแนวคิดบ้านไทยร่วมสมัย การศึกษาวิจัยนี้เป็นการศึกษาเชิงพรรณนาผสมกับเชิงประวัติศาตร์ในบางส่วน วิธีวิจัยเน้นการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากเอกสาร และบทความที่เกี่ยวข้อง รวมทั้งการสัมภาษณ์สถาปนิกผู้ออกแบบและผู้อยู่อาศัย แล้วนำมาวิเคราะห์ด้วยวิธีการเชิงคุณภาพตามหลักพื้นฐานทางสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า พัฒนาการของบ้านไทยร่วมสมัยในช่วงเวลาที่ศึกษานั้น ไม่ได้มีพัฒนาการที่เป็นเส้นตรงตามลำดับเวลา เป็นกระบวนการที่ต่างคนต่างทำมากกว่า แต่ถ้าศึกษาย้อนกลับไปยังช่วงเวลาก่อนหน้า พบว่ามีพัฒนาการที่ต่อเนื่องอย่างค่อยเป็นค่อยไป โดยมีการรับและการปรับเปลี่ยนอิทธิพลของรูปแบบจากต่างประเทศให้เหมาะสมกับวิถีชีวิตและสภาพแวดล้อมของคนไทยเสมอมา ซึ่งสรุปเป็นกระบวนการพัฒนาดังนี้ 1) กระบวนการพัฒนาสืบทอดจากรูปแบบดั้งเดิม 2) กระบวนการพัฒนาจากรูปแบบที่ประยุกต์แล้ว และ 3) กระบวนการพัฒนาที่ปรับเปลี่ยนและผสมผสานกับรูปแบบสมัยใหม่ สรุปแล้ว บ้านไทยร่วมสมัยนี้เป็นอีกบทสนทนาหนึ่งที่บอกเล่าถึงวิถีชีวิตและวัฒนธรรมแห่งยุคสมัยได้ และแม้ว่าจะเป็นบทสนทนากระแสรอง แต่ผลงานที่ปรากฏคงสะท้อนให้เห็นความพยายามในการสร้างสรรค์สถาปัตยกรรมไทยด้วยจิตวิญญาณใหม่ที่เปิดกว้างได้เป็นอย่างดีและควรที่จะพัฒนาต่อไป

This research is the study in the development of contemporary Thai house since 1982- present. The main objective of this research is to investigate the application of the traditional characteristics into the contemporary houses. Also the study should give an overall understanding of the development as a larger picture which connects to the period earlier. The development will reveal the origin, the process and the factors that affect the changes and the transformation into today’s pattern. Besides, another essence of the study is the contemporary Thai characteristic itself, which is studied through the representation of 10 selected case studies. Then drawing together these form and content into a model of contemporary Thai House Theory as a guideline. The research is basically a descriptive and historic approach. The methodology is mainly gathering the information from papers, articles, also interview with the architects and the house owners. Then with a qualitative method, the collected data is analyzed related to the architectural principles. The study revealed a non-linear and o time related development, which is rather a process of one’s own adventure. But if looking back to the earlier period, there seem to be a gradual continuity in the development. Thus when referring to a larger picture of the development, it shows the adaptation of the influence from outside into the Thai lifestyle and context, resulting in 3 processes in the development :- 1) process of direct derivation from the original, 2) process of the modification and 3) process of the new transformation. In conclusion, contemporary Thai House is a dialogue of the contemporary lifestyle and culture. Despites its minority, its result reflects the clear intention in creating a new spirit of Thai architecture, which should move on forward.
