เวสสันดรชาดก : จิตรกรรมกับประวัติศาสตร์สังคมล้านนา

Abstract

การเปรียบเทียบเนื้อหาเวสสันดรชาดก ฉบับไผ่แจ้เรียวแดง กับอรรถกถาเวสสันดรชาดก พบว่า ฉบับไผ่แจ้เรียวแดงมีการเพิ่มเหตุการณ์และเพิ่มรายละเอียดเนื้อหามากกว่ารูปแบบอื่น อันสัมพันธ์กับจิตรกรรมที่มีการสร้างภาพของชูชก ทั้งในกัณฑ์ชูชก, กัณฑ์กุมารบรรพ์, กัณฑ์มหาราช ให้เด่นกว่าตัวภาพอื่น และสัมพันธ์กับการปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมเสพวรรณกรรมที่เน้นความบันเทิงสาธารณ์มากขึ้นในช่วงพุทธศตวรรษที่ 24 เป็นต้นมา จิตรกรรมฝาผนังเวสสันดรชาดกสัมพันธ์กับการเล่าเรื่องพุทธประวัติ ไตรภูมิโลกสัณฐาน จิตรกรรมฝาผนังวิหารวัดนาแส่ง จ.ลำปาง เป็นภาพตัวแทนได้ดีที่สุด ส่วนจิตรกรรมกลุ่มพระบฏพบว่า สัมพันธ์กับเรื่องพระมาลัยอีกด้วย ในด้านรูปแบบศิลปะนั้น พระบฏวัดพระยืน จ.ลำพูน และพระบฏวัดปงสนุก จ.ลำปาง มีความสัมพันธ์กับฉบับไผ่แจ้เรียวแดงมากที่สุด ทั้งนี้พัฒนาการของงานจิตรกรรมเวสสันดรชาดกล้านนา ในระยะครึ่งแรกพุทธศตวรรษที่ 25 นิยมแสดงแบบทวิลักษณ์ คือ การเลือกผสมผสารศิลปะพม่า – ไทใหญ่กับศิลปะรัตนโกสินทร์ เห็นได้จากงานจิตรกรรมเวสสันดรชาดกกลุ่มลำปาง ที่สะท้อนนโยบายชนชั้นนำในท้องถิ่นกระบวนการสร้างความเป็นกรุงเทพฯ ในหัวเมืองเหนือ ระยะครึ่งหลังพุทธศตวรรษที่ 25 จะเน้นรูปแบบสมัยใหม่ที่สะท้อนภาวะความเป็นเมืองมากขึ้น ปฏิบัติการในพิธีกรรมและความเชื่อเกี่ยวกับการตั้งธรรมหลวง ชี้ให้เห็นการย่นย่อเวลาของโลกทัศน์ของชาวบ้านที่สามารถจินตนาการได้ถึงโลกของพระศรีอาริยะเมตไตรย รวมถึงการผนวกชุดความรู้ท้องถิ่น ในเชิงต่อรองอำนาจจากวาทกรรมชุธาตุ ทำให้จิตรกรรมพระบฎทำหน้าที่เป็น “ภาษาภาพ” ในการสื่อสารทางวัฒนธรรม

In districts half century after the 25th with focus on modern style that reflects the creation of nation – states ideology. Operating in the rituals and beliefs about the great preachment (Thum Luang) are pointing out the brief time of the worldview of people who can imagine the world of the Sri Ariya Mettraiya. Include an integrated set of local knowledge in the bargaining power of discourse Chuthut, this making Phra bot paintings serve as a “visual language” in cultural communication.
