Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาภาพปูนปั้นบนฝาผนังและศิลปกรรมภายในวิหารวัดบางกะพ้อม ศึกษาเนื้อหาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างพระพุธศาสนา ความเชื่อ ประเพณี ในกรณีฝีมือช่างพื้นบ้าน และศึกษารูปแบบทางศิลปกรรม เพื่อกำหนดยุคสมัยภาพปูนปั้น โดยการเปรียบเทียบกับศิลปกรรมสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น โดยเฉพาะช่วงปลายรัชสมัยของพระบาทสมเด็จพระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว จนถึงรัชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว จากการศึกษาเปรียบเทียบ อิทธิพลในการสร้างงานพุทธศิลป์ในวิหารวัดบางกะพ้อมนั้น มีรูปแบบคล้ายคลึงกันกับงานจิตรกรรมของช่างหลวง เช่น งานศิลปกรรมในเขตพุทธาวาสวัดสุทัศน์เทพวราราม วัดพระเชตุพนวิมลมังคลาราม และวัดราชโอรสารามราชวรวิหาร และวัดอื่น ๆ ในช่วงสมัยเดียวกัน จากการศึกษาพอจะสรุปได้ว่า เนื้อหาที่นำมาใช้ในภาพปูนปั้นนี้ เป็นเรื่องราวในพุทธศาสนาเป็นส่วนใหญ่ อันมีต้นเค้ามาจากพระไตรปิฎก ได้แก่ เรื่องพุทธประวัติ จากสุตตันตปิฎก หรือจากพระปฐมโพธิกถา ส่วนเรื่องอื่น ๆ ได้แก่ ตำนานพระพุทธบาท และเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับจริยวัตรของสงฆ์ ได้แก่ อสุภกรรมฐาน ธุดงค์วัตรเป็นต้น นอกจากนี้ ยังมีวิถีชีวิตประจำวันของคนในพื้นถิ่นปรากฎในภาพปูนปั้นด้วย

The object of this thesis research is to discuss the relationship of Buddhism belief and folk art skill that lead to the inspiration and creation of the stucco sculptures and paintings in Wat Bangkapom. To understand fully the influences at the time these sculptures were made this research discusses art movements during the beginning of Rattanakosin era, especially the last period of King Rama 3 until the beginning period of King Rama 4. Certain elements in the art found in Wat Bangkapom can be easily compared to the artistic style of the royal painter at that time. Art created by the royal painter in Wat Sutatthepwararam, Wat Prachetuphonwimonmagkalaram, and Wat Ratchaorodsaram-rachawiharnand are very similar to the art created in Wat Bangkapom. All of the temple art created at this time were also influenced by Buddhist history scriptures, monk activities, and ordinary people lifestyles. The aesthetics of the art present symbolic meaning into social life. That belief, and Thai culture.
